About the Artist
Molly Bader is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She was born and raised upstate outside of Syracuse and has been painting for fifteen years.Molly taught herself to draw at a young age and started painting in high school. She credits her rural upbringing with helping her to develop her skills - she kept making art because there was nothing else to do! She minored in Painting at Buffalo State College. In her junior year she received a student research grant for an arts-based research project on sexual violence and rape culture. This project, mentored by Dr. Alice Pennisi, culminated in a gallery show titled "The Eyes of Others" during The Anne Frank Project's annual social justice festival.Molly's style blends elements of realism with expressionist use of color and visible brushstrokes. She is transfixed by color, texture, and light. Her favorite subjects are people. In addition to commissioned works Molly is creating a series of paintings based on childhood photos taken by her late father.Molly is also a professionally trained actor. For more info, check out her acting website here.
Live Wedding Painting
Live Wedding Painting is a luxury event service that provides your guests the entertainment of watching a painting come to life and provides you with an original work of art that commemorates your special day.
Studio painting of Grete and Dustin Day - live examples coming soon!
How does it work?
I will come to your venue a couple hours before the ceremony to set up and start working on the background. I will take reference photos of the couple for the moment of your choosing (first kiss, ceremony exit, first dance, etc) and work on the painting during the reception so the guests can enjoy watching the process.Wedding paintings are artist-grade archival acrylic paint on high-quality stretched canvas. At the end of the night I bring your painting home with me for touch ups and a protective varnish. If you live in NYC we can arrange a pickup or local delivery, if not I can ship it to you (shipping costs apply).
Will you travel?
Yes! Schedule permitting, I am happy to travel to your wedding. I am based in Brooklyn and wedding packages include my travel within the boroughs of NYC.If your wedding is outside of NYC additional costs will apply.
